THE CEREMONY
Something is calling you. You can feel it – beneath the noise of ordinary life, beneath the plans and the to-do lists and the conversations that go nowhere. Something older than all of that. Something that knows your name.
This is what Ayahuasca has always been for.
We gather on the night of May 23rd as Cape Town settles into the deep of its winter – a season that calls us inward, strips away the peripheral, and asks us to face what we have been carrying. There is no better time for this work. The longer nights hold us. The cold sharpens our attention. The darkness becomes a doorway.
This overnight ceremony is a single, focused immersion – a complete container from dusk until dawn. We arrive in the late afternoon to settle in together, prepare the space, and open the circle in unhurried time. After ceremony opens, we drink and enter the medicine – a journey that typically unfolds over four to six hours, held from beginning to end with live music, song, and the quiet, grounded presence of our facilitation team.
When the medicine lands and the work completes, we close gently – a warm meal, quiet conversation, the kind of silence that has earned itself. We sleep in the ceremonial space and rise into a morning of Tiger Hymn breathwork, somatic integration, and group sharing. These closing hours are not a formality. They are where the night’s revelations become real – where insight moves from vision into body, from understanding into life.
This is not a retreat from your life. It is a return to it.

- Comfortable camping mattress (for overnight sleep)

Preparation and dieta guidance is provided upon booking.
First-time participants receive a complimentary preparation session to support readiness and understanding before the ceremony night.
Lead Facilitators
Hymn Jay is the founder of Wake Circle — a spiritual teacher, shamanic facilitator, and medicine singer known for his evocative healing voice. His unique style of medicine music has emerged through years of guiding shamanic ceremonies and holding sacred space for deep inner work.
He embodies and teaches the healing power of the divine masculine, holding a grounded presence as a father, facilitator, and guide. Earlier in life, he walked the path of an award-winning theatre director, and that devotion to storytelling now weaves through his work in the form of story-healing, ritual, and ceremony.
His path is rooted in transformation — helping people reconnect with the sacred, remember their own medicine, and return to a life aligned with higher purpose and presence.
Simone Beckerling (Moni) is a seasoned medicine woman and an devoted voyager of sacred plants. 
She has recently joined Wake Circle, bringing with her a profound history of facilitation, ritual, and deep ceremonial experience. Her path began in 2002, climbing the mountains of Peru with a shaman, and later traveling to Mapia — the heartland of Ayahuasca in Brazil. Since then, she has walked an extraordinary road within the Santo Daime community, learning the language of prayer, discipline, and devotion through the plants.
Moni carries a rich tapestry of ceremonial traditions — including sweat lodge, vision quest, and the teachings of master plants. She has a rare ability to co-create the kind of holding that allows true healing to unfold — where the light can enter, soften, and mend.
